Tellus Museum

So Adventure Buddy and I decided on a warmer kind of adventure yesterday since it was nice and cold outside. We decided on the Tellus Museum in Cartersville, Ga. I've been before but he hasn't so we took a trip out there. First of all, if you are a member at other certain museums you can get in free.  We chose to see the show at the planetarium because I didn't get to do that when I went. It was a pretty neat experience, you go into this room with stadium seating and there is this large dome thing you sit under and the "tour guide" can use computer programing to bring up the night sky, show you certain constellations and even take you WAAAAAAAY out past our own universe. It was completely worth the $2.50 extra and I recommend it when you have the time! After the show we walked through the museum. They have a trains, planes and automobiles area, a "kids" area (that we had more fun in than most of the kids there) that you can play with things like gravity, sound waves, weather and all kinds of things. Then we went on to the fossils and then minerals. For the $14 for an adult, it's completely worth it. They also have a little area where you can "mine for gems" and "dig for fossils" which we didn't do even though I wanted to. I highly recommend this museum to waste a few hours in. Birthday Post

So Monday was my birthday. Adventure Buddy took me out for lunch and bought me an awesome T-Rex cupcake. And then later on some friends from work surprised me with a surprise party. It was a pretty awesome day and I'm thankful for all the people that wished me happy birthday and helped me celebrate!!!

Hickey Gap Campground

Last Friday adventure buddy and I went to a place one of the guys from work told me about. It's called Hickey Gap Campground in Crandall, Ga. It's a very small campground out in the middle of nowhere and you have to take a gravel road for about 7 miles before you reach it. Once you get to the campground, you can go down into the campground or there's a place for "day parking." It's a free campground by the way. It's a bit of a hike from the day parking down to the river and I don't recommend it after it's rained or it's still dewy, mostly because I fell and busted my butt on the hike down. But, once you reach the river it's beautiful! There are several little "rapids" and a waterfall with some shoals at the bottom. You can climb on the rocks at the falls and it has several places that would be nice swimming holes when it's not cold. Here are some of the pictures I took there:

This was just a little funny fungi that looked like a penis coming out of the ground. We have dirty minds and laughed about it for a while.

I recommend this little place, it's nice and isolated and not too bad of a hike. It's a beautiful river and it's very pretty during the fall but I bet it's even better in the summer when it's not too cold to play in the water. You can google Hickey Gap Campground to find directions.

I know it's been a little while since I've posted anything but these last few weeks work and life has been absolutely CRAZY and Adventure Buddy and I haven't had time to do any kind of adventuring. Hopefully we'll be able to go on an adventure soon though! For now, how about some pictures from Halloween??
