Update: April 9th 2015

Lately Adventure Buddy has been extremely busy doing spring cleaning and fixing up his house before it gets crazy hot so we haven't been able to go on adventures. :-/ But, I have been able to do some paintings and reading. If you read Anne Bishop books, I just finished the latest book in the Others series, Vision in Silver. It was very well written and I absolutely love the characters and the plot. It really pulls you in, if you haven't read it you should. The first book in the series is called Written in Red. Definitely check it out. Now I'm starting a series by Morgan Rhodes (spelling??) the first book of the series is called Falling Kingdoms. I've only read a few chapters so far but it's very intriguing. Ok now on to the paintings. I went and bought some bigger canvases than what I usually work with. Here's what I painted:

This one is called Wolf Song. I used the glow in the dark stars and moon for the actual stars and moon and I painted them with glitter paint and then went over them with glow in the dark paint. Now they glow like actual moon and stars. The wolf's breath is glitter paint as well. For the wolf, I printed out a silhouette of this wolf on a rock howling and cut it out and traced it. I'm very proud of this piece. It's my favorite of anything I've painted so far.

This painting, I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do. The canvas is very large, a 24x36(??) I think. It had more words on it but some of the letters of the other words moved around when i painted it. Fearless was the only word that didn't have any letters move. But when I peeled the sticky letters off some of the paint went with them so...but I think it gives it a little more character. Also, it should be noted that this thing took 24 hours to dry completely!

Now I need a black light for this painting to be all psychedelic! LOL anyway, I hope you liked my paintings. Hopefully adventure buddy will be done with his house work soon and we can go on an adventure!

Update

I know I haven't posted anything in a while but with winter comes limited adventures and work has been super crazy lately. I have done a few paintings lately and it did snow here recently so that was fun. Alright let's see, the last time I updated I told you guys that I was working on a Pokemon painting for myself and I finally finished it.

Then I got a leaf shaped hole punch and did a few seasonal tree paintings for a friend.

And then it snowed. I'm not going to put ALLLLLL the pictures I took during the snow on here because I took a lot but I will put some of my favorites up.

And I've been working on this one painting lately and I finally finished it and decided to frame it.

And that's about all I've been doing lately other than bumming around on Netflix and reading. Winter is a very dull time as far as adventures go because it's WAAAAAAY too cold to do much of anything.  Now that it's starting to warm up again maybe I'll have some better updates.

Paintings

Adventure Buddy and I haven't been able to go on any adventures the past couple of weeks due to colds and life getting in the way so instead, I've gotten back to painting a little. I've had the idea for these paintings for a little while and decided to actually put them on a canvas. I'm not sure where the inspiration came from but I was really excited about doing these paintings. I painted a picture for each of my besties and started one for me. They are Pokemon themed and are personalized for each of us. Ok first up is E's painting. E is a psychic pokemon trainer and an Eevee evolution lover so when it came down to it, Espeon was what I decided to go with.

Pictures:

Now Wanen has a love for Magikarp. He's here favorite because he's stupid and can't do anything but then you evolve him and everyone else better run!

Pictures:

And that has been what I've been doing with my bored self lately. I started a painting for myself but I haven't finished it yet. I hope you liked these, the girls certainly did! :)

Incline Railway and Chickamauga Battlefield

Last week the Adventure Buddy and I decided to take a trip to Tennessee to the Incline Railway. It's in St. Elmo, Tennessee and basically it's a train car that travels one mile up the side of a mountain. At the top of the mountain you can walk a few blocks to a military memorial park that has a monument in the middle and a small Civil War museum, along with some cannons. There looked to be some Civil War gift shops close to the park but they weren't open at the time. After leaving we passed Chickamauga Battlefield and decided to stop by. The battlefield is huge and has all kinds of monuments in the various fields and wooded areas. There is also a large tower you can climb (which wasn't open for the season, apparently the middle of winter is not a good time to do any site seeing...) and all kinds of places where you can stop and wander around. There is also a very nice museum with a large Civil War gun collection, gift shop and a twenty-six minute documentary that was actually shot at the battlefield. The Incline was $15 for a round trip ride and $3 to enter the park. The battlefield and documentary was free. If you're in the mood for Civil War knowledge I highly recommend these places, not to mention the view from the Incline was very beautiful, there was snow and ice on the ground at the top. I had a great time.

Pictures!!!!

The view at the top of the Incline, there are two train cars that get pulled up and down this mountain by cables.

In the small museum at Point Park at the top of the Incline Railway, I thought this was funny....

Cannons and snow. I almost fell several times due to ice on the ground.

The entrance to Point Park looked like a castle. It was very cool.

In the museum at Chickamauga Battlefield.

The tower at Chickamauga Battlefield. It is apparently closed from December to March.

The stairs inside the tower. You could only see through the gate this far.

Tellus Museum

So Adventure Buddy and I decided on a warmer kind of adventure yesterday since it was nice and cold outside. We decided on the Tellus Museum in Cartersville, Ga. I've been before but he hasn't so we took a trip out there. First of all, if you are a member at other certain museums you can get in free.  We chose to see the show at the planetarium because I didn't get to do that when I went. It was a pretty neat experience, you go into this room with stadium seating and there is this large dome thing you sit under and the "tour guide" can use computer programing to bring up the night sky, show you certain constellations and even take you WAAAAAAAY out past our own universe. It was completely worth the $2.50 extra and I recommend it when you have the time! After the show we walked through the museum. They have a trains, planes and automobiles area, a "kids" area (that we had more fun in than most of the kids there) that you can play with things like gravity, sound waves, weather and all kinds of things. Then we went on to the fossils and then minerals. For the $14 for an adult, it's completely worth it. They also have a little area where you can "mine for gems" and "dig for fossils" which we didn't do even though I wanted to. I highly recommend this museum to waste a few hours in. Now on to picture time!

Even the dinosaurs in the holiday spirit! And the museum has a sense of humor!

The bathroom had this cool little built in step stool. It was funny because Adventure Buddy always makes fun of me for being so short....

Adventure Buddy and I wanted to be an astronauts!

Two T-Rexs trying to hold hands didn't work out so well HAH!

I seriously thought this said the "Lame" Triceratops....poor guy.

I think there's something behind me....

                                                          Now I'm a T-Rex. Rawr!!

Well I hope you enjoyed our little adventure. If you're ever in the Cartersville area I recommend you check out the Tellus Museum!
